Seven of our DEHS Choir students took part in the three-day PMEA District 12 Choir Festival hosted at Octorara HS that culminated in a concert conducted by West Chester University Music Professor, Dr. Marci Major earlier today. All seven of these students worked very hard for several months in preparing for this festival, scoring and ranking higher than they did when they first qualified for the exclusive opportunity.
Based on re-audition scores, four of our students have qualified to continue on in representing our school at the upcoming PMEA Region VI Choir Festival to take place February 16-18, 2023 at West Chester University. That festival will include a choir of 160 students from over 60 public and private high schools in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Philadelphia, and Montgomery Counties.
Here are the students from our school who qualified for Regions based on how they ranked individually out of gifted singers from over 30 different schools in our area:
senior- Alison Booth (alto)- 1st senior- Peter Naughton (baritone)- 1st sophomore- Luke De Ocampo (tenor)- 2nd senior- Luke Wyke (bass)- 7th
These students will be re-auditioned again at Regions, where only the top few on each voice part will earn opportunities to perform in the All-State Choir.

A student from another school who had previously indicated they were available for Regions has now chosen to decline, so the next spot goes to our very own THOMAS STAUFFER! He has moved up from 11th place to 10th and is now eligible to participate so they called him up! Congrats Tommy! We’re proud of you! Welcome to Region VI Chorus.
